SCOTLAND LANDSCAPE & ADVENTURE TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION
BY MATTHEW WILLIAMS-ELLIS, UK BASED COMMERCIAL TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER LIVING IN LONDON
Below is a collection of my favourite photos taken on two trips to photograph the Scottish Highlands. The first trip was ski touring in Cairngorms National Park. Though tough throughout, making some serious elevation gains, it was worth it to be skiing in some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery. The second trip, canoeing the c100km length of the Caledonian Canal, from Fort William on the west coast to Inverness on the East Coast felt equally wild. In some moments it felt like a walk in the park, quietly paddling and camping on the shores of the lochs with barely any signs of other life. Things became a lot more hairy as the winds picked up dramatically and we rigged up sails, completing the length of Loch Ness in no time.
