Capture experiential photos of a 5 day canoe trip, coast to coast across Scotland, starting in Fort William and ending in Inverness. The images are for use on the Secret Adventures website, in online advertising and social media.
We it was important to capture photos of the canoeing itself, it was equally important to represent the other aspects of the trip; the beautiful landscape, campfire in the evening and freedom of camping in some stunning, remote locations. I partnered up with a strong paddler who was able to get us ahead of the pack, which was something I knew I needed in order to get the best shots!
This sort of commission fills me with a lot of excitement, and a little bit of nerves! Taking all my camera equipment on a 5 day canoe adventure, my biggest concern was simply making sure I kept it dry. It was a concern that was justified when, as we reached the far end of Loch Ness, waves started breaking into our boat and we were forced to bail water out and head for the shore! You can see more of my favourite photography from Scotland here. Please also feel free to check out my complete commercial photography portfolio and film making portfolio.
"Matt is the only photographer I know who is happy to take photographs whilst wobbling around on a stand up paddle board! He's taken some of the best photographs we have on our adventures including canoeing across Scotland, stand up paddle boarding in Richmond and kayaking at night under Tower Bridge. A truly talented photographer and all round great guy." - Madoc, Founder of Secret Adventures
