Costa Rica Wildlife Photography Pelican at Playa Buena Vista Beach at sunrise Guanacaste Province Costa Rica

Costa Rica

This Costa Rica wildlife and landscape photography collection was captured while running a Costa Rica photography holiday. You can see a full write up of the trip here.

Costa Rica is stunning. It is one of those countries where you don’t need to seek out the gems, because you are completely surrounded by spectacular scenery and nature. Around any corner there might be a sloth or monkey hanging from a tree!

As part of the trip, there are opportunities to photograph hummingbirds, snakes, tree frogs, the list goes on. Hours were spent at bird feeders photographing toucans, parakeets, woodpeckers and hummingbirds. I also had a magical morning floating through Tortuguero National Park capturing photos of Basilisk Lizards, Monitor Lizards, Caiman, Monkeys and Tiger Herons to name just a few of the highlights. One of the best things about Costa Rica is that the wildlife is everywhere. On one occasion while on a sunrise landscape shoot on Punta Leona Beach, I turned around to find I had an audience of three Coati peering through the undergrowth.

A curated selection of Costa Rica prints are available in Matthew's photography print shop, but if you can't see the image you are after then just get in touch!
