BY MATTHEW WILLIAMS-ELLIS: UK LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHER LIVING IN LONDON
“Nothing can beat a quiet sunrise, waiting for the morning light to start playing with the landscape. When that moment happens, I am completely fixated on trying to capture the atmosphere and character of the scene before me. The images below are a result of many amazing hours spent exploring deserted beaches, climbing volcanoes and hiking in forests and mountains. I look for images not only in the wider landscape, but also in the details, where the beauty might otherwise go unnoticed.”
Some images in the gallery below were taken on commission, while others are part of personal projects, such as Matthew’s current exploration of 6 minute exposures. Matthew’s images have been used by Nikon, Visit Britain, National Geographic Traveler, Lonely Planet, Rough guides and many other tourist boards, travel companies, magazines, travel guides and international publications.
Matthew is available for commission and always excited to chat about upcoming projects, so please do get in touch if you would like to discuss your ideas!
