INDIA TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION
BY MATTHEW WILLIAMS-ELLIS, UK BASED COMMERCIAL TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER LIVING IN LONDON
Below is a collection of my favourite photos taken during two recent trip to photograph India. The first was shooting a pilot episode for Photo Escapes. Photo Escapes is a project that myself and fellow photographer John Alexander are working on. We create cinematic, behind the scenes films that follow us on our travel photography adventures around the world. We spent some time photographing the Chinese fishing nets in Kochi, before heading further down the coast to Varkala. There, we befriended and photographed the local fishermen on Kappil Beach, watching in awe as they brought in 2km long fishing nets. Our final stop was the stunning mountain scenery around Munnar, where we ditched our luggage and travelled by scooter, which gave us the freedom to get stuck into some landscape photography.
The second trip to India was to take part in the Dumball Rally; a charity rally raising money for the teenage cancer trust. I managed to find a few days either side to explore and photograph some of India’s most famous sites, including the iconic Taj Mahal, vibrant Varanasi and the stunning white beaches of Goa.
